Activity Offerings

Hari Om! Salutations!!

Greetings from Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV)! Here’s a brief update of the latest events and activities pertaining to Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth as we venture into the 3rd Academic year (2019-20). A fresh new batch of 82 Undergraduate students and 15 PhD students commenced their studies on July 16th 2019, the auspicious Guru Purnima day, with a beautiful Vidyarambham ceremony led by Swami Sharadananda in the benign presence of Chancellor, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head of Chinmaya Mission. The new batch of students participated in the vidyarambha-havan and committed to the five vows of student life. It was a blessed occasion that was also witnessed by their parents, CVV faculty and staff.

With the introduction of three new postgraduate programmes (MA Public Policy & GovernanceLLM in Legal Theory and LLM in International Trade & Commercial Lawand the option to pursue PhD research,  CVV now has a combined strength of 260 students on campus.

We were very fortunate that Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, the Founder Chancellor, took time to visit and thus bless the new CVV campus site at Onakkoor on 8th August, 2019. It was a benediction indeed to have Pujya Guruji on the CVV campus for a week and the students and Faculty benefitted from  ennobling Satsangs.

Prof. Nagaraj Neerchal, from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, assumed office as Vice Chancellor of CVV on Aug 5, 2019. With a PhD in Statistics from Iowa State University, USA, Dr. Neerchal’s research and publications encompass theory and applications of statistics. Above all, Prof. Nagaraj Neerchal has also been a committed sevak of the Chinmaya Family at Maryland, USA, for 20 years now and it is indeed a joy to have him as the Vice Chancellor and lead CVV to new frontiers. Work In Progress at New CVV Campus Site

Following the Bhumi-puja and Shila-sthapana (Foundation Stone laying) by Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, the Chancellor, on June 12th 2019, our team is hard at work in preparing the documents necessary to obtain the various statutory approvals to begin construction of the new campus. We are now in the process of acquiring 15-20 additional acres of land adjacent to the current property, in order to support the future growth of Chinmaya University. An image giving the artistic rendering by the architects that showcase the new campus is as below.

Indeed the progress we are making with the University are with the abundant blessings of the Lord and the all-fulfilling grace of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and the entire Guruparampara. Needless to say it is the timely support of your munificent offerings that has made all this possible. We look forward to your continued support of CVV. We hope you find the opportunity to visit CVV soon. Do email us when you make your plans.

On behalf of the Trustees, the University faculty, staff and students, I express my heartfelt gratitude for the munificent support of the global Chinmaya Family and all its well-wishers worldwide.
