Upanishad Series: Prashnopanishad by Swami Ishwarananda

Sunday, Apr 28, 2019
– Friday, May 3, 2019

Time: 7:30pm – 8:45pm

It is a strange bridge from your stupid ego to the Infinite Reality.

Each time you take two steps, the bridge behind you is burnt.

-Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda

The central philosophical concepts of Atmavidya (or knowledge of the Self) in Hinduism are contained in ancient Sanskrit texts called the Upanishads, a part of Vedas. Upanishads are also known as Vedanta. The sacred doctrine is known to grant freedom from suffering and lead to the state of unbridled happiness. Riddled with seemingly contradictory and cryptic statements, the secret of Vedanta can be unraveled only by Masters who have translated theoretical knowledge to experiential abidance.

Prepare for a journey that will defy and challenge your current perspective on life. Discover a deeper meaning to living. Through a series of week-long lectures once a month, Swami Ishwarananda will demystify the principal Upanishads. Swamiji recently finished the overview of Kathopanishad, Mundakopanishad and Ishavasyopanishad.

Next, Swamiji will unravel the deep secrets of Prashna Upanishad in a week-long lecture series. This Upanishad elaborately talks about the jiva, the individual soul. Sage Pippalada answers questions of six seekers about the origin of jiva, how life enters and exits the body, how pranas function, how life within a man interacts with world and its Higher nature, who sleeps when we go to sleep and who wakes up, what is the role of meditation in helping us realize our true nature and the sixteen parts of every jiva.

This is your chance to learn about your own psyche! A must-attend week!

Everyone is welcome to attend. Please be seated in the hall 5 minutes before start of lecture and kindly maintain silence.

Pre-requisite is an inquisitive mind.
