The Navaratri festival is the celebration of the nine forms of Shakti/Devi and is felicitated for nine days starting the ‘pratipada’ (first day) of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Ashvina.
On the first three days, Mother Goddess is worshipped in the form of annihilator of negativity – Durga. For the next three days, Mother Goddess is revered in the form of the grantor of spiritual wealth – Lakshmi. During the last three days, we invoke the grace of the Mother in the form of the Goddess of Wisdom – Saraswati.
Join the Chinmaya family on Friday, October 12 @ 7:30 pm at woodbridge High School as we perform Garba to invoke divine grace of Goddess Shakti. The dance is performed in circular pattern, as a symbol of Hindu view of cycle of time – an infinite cycle from birth to life to death to rebirth.
