Pt Ronu Majumdar is a flutist firmly rooted in Maihar Gharana. He began playing Bansuri (bamboo flute) under the guidance of his father Dr. Bhanu Majumdar, then the Late Pt Lakshman Prasad Jaipurwale and finally from Pt Vijay Raghav. He was also fortunate to receive training from his grand guru Pt Ravi Shankar. He is a recipient of Sangeet Natak Academi Award in 2014, has a Guinness Book of World Records record for conducting a concert of 5,378 flautists on one stage, and was nominated for Grammy Awards in 1996.
Pt Abhijit Banerjee is recognized as one of the main disciples of Late Pt Gyan Prakash Ghosh. He has accompanied many maestros such as Pt Nikhil Banerjee, Pt Ravi Shankar, Begum Parveen Sultana, etc and has toured extensively across the globe. Abhijit-ji founded and established Dhwani Academy of Percussion in LA and Kolkata. He has also worked as a journalist and music critic for major publications of India such as The Telegraph, Calcutta, and others.
