Activity Offerings

Year 2020 has been an unforgettable year for everyone. Life changed for all of us due to the pandemic. Despite our accomplishments, wealth, status, power, beauty and physical strength, each of us has been forced to accept our helplessness in face of the fury of nature. This shows the vulnerability of our life.

 

Only the grace and compassion of the omniscient Lord can protect us even as many others grieve the loss of their near and dear ones. In turn, we should maintain a prayerful attitude toward the Lord and conduct ourselves with humility and patience.

 

To remind ourselves of His supreme presence, we must engage in daily practice of prayers, contemplation and meditation throughout the year 2021.

 

Sadhana Samvatsara

The vision of this new online initiative started by Swami Ishwarananda is to bring like-minded seekers together on one or more chosen weekdays (M-F only) to pray and meditate for 30 minutes with simple guidance.

 

With the kind blessings of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, this program will start on Monday, January 4, 2021.

 

Pre-requisite

Commitment to daily practice and regular attendance in online group sessions are the keys to reaping benefits out of this practice.

 

Schedule

Prayer and Meditation sessions will be held on weekdays via Zoom webinar between 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm Pacific time. Swami Ishwarananda will be present in these sessions.

 

Once registration is complete, you will receive a Zoom link for the weekday via email on the registered email ID.

6:00 pm – Start with chanting ॐ three times followed by video capsule from Pujya Gurudev’s Bhagavad-Gita talks

6:05 – 6:10 pm – Silent contemplation with the help of PowerPoint slides

6:10 – 6:15 pm – Chanting selected hymns from the Book of Hymns

6:15 – 6:20 pm – Japa with the name of specific deity of the day

6:20 – 6:30 pm – Silent meditation and end with Om Shanti three times

 

Session Details

All participants except the host are expected to stay muted throughout the session. We suggest that you choose a place of solitude during the session to derive maximum benefit. Since these sessions are designed to help us quieten our busy minds, participants are not expected to interact with either the host or with other participants. Trained sevaks will host the weekday schedule. The video and contemplation slides will appear on your screen. You are requested to chant along with the help of the Book of Hymns and also do japa along with the host.

 

Remember to opt for at least one weekday and practice consistently on the chosen days. We suggest that you continue to follow the schedule on your own even on non-opted days and weekends as well.
